The Wedding Party

Attendants:

Tari Ayala
Tari and Jennifer met at O, The Oprah Magazine where they sat in adjacent cubicles. When they realized they both shared a love of quoting Mommie Dearest as well as a fear of spontaneous combustion, they knew they would be long-term friends. Since then, they've gone on many adventures together, including unfortunate road trips and regular pilgrimages to the beach in the summer.

Nanci Healy
Nanci and Rob met in the dusty halls of the circulation department of Wenner Media (Rolling Stone, Us Weekly, Men's Journal) in early 2005. They quickly established a common love for making inappropriate jokes and doing bad impressions of colleagues. Nanci fled soon after and went to Newsweek, whence she was able to lure Rob to join her, using the simple but effective promise of free tea. Neither work at the esteemed news mag any more, but have remained close and meet up regularly for sushi and other hoity toity New York fare.

Kara Hearn
Kara and Jennifer met on the first day of first grade when they decided, during recess, to be friends. The actual conversation went something like this:
     Jennifer: Want to be friends?
     Kara: Okay.
Many slumber parties, proms, basketball games, REM concerts and mix tapes later, Kara ended up on the west coast and Jennifer on the east. But it's lucky for Jennifer that Kara is a successful artist whose work recently landed her in New York. Reunited!
Stephanie Jacob
Stephanie and Jennifer met at O, The Oprah Magazine, where they bonded over lipstick and eyeshadow and traded gossip and complaints in the magazine's beauty closet. They became running buddies and cheered each other on in their respective marathons and pretty much through everything. Jennifer was heartbroken when Stephanie packed up and moved back to Kansas City, but fortunately IM keeps them together and breaks up workday boredom.

Officiant:

Nick Leiber
Nick and Jennifer met at O, The Oprah Magazine where they became friends despite his tendency to trick her into believing things that were completely untrue. Over the years, he's cooked her paella, taught her how to make good coffee and showed her around Madrid. He's been a reliable friend, even helping her move twice and showing up sober 50 percent of the time. Rob and Jennifer count Nick and his wife Neda among their closest friends and are thrilled he will be marrying them.
